One of the talented singers Aima Baig and Trishala Gurung will perform Wednesday to celebrate the opening ceremony of the 2023 Asian Cup in Multan.
The opening event will take place before the first match of the tournament between hosts Pakistan and Nepal at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
The Asian Cup 2023 will run from 30 August to 17 September and will be co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. However, not all matches will be played in Pakistan as the Indian Cricket Control Board (BCCI) has refused to send the team to Pakistan due to safety concerns.
Pakistan is in Group A along with Nepal and India, while Group B includes Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
Four matches will be played in Pakistan, while the remaining nine matches, including the final, will be played in Sri Lanka.
Unlike previous competitions, the 2023 Asian Cup will use a 50-over format to help prepare teams for the World Cup in India later in the year.
The 50-over Asian Cup was last held in 2018, with India retaining the title of defending champions.
