The cost of chicken is likely to continue to increase in the coming days.The warning from the Pakistan Poultry Association follows a statement by Federal Food Security Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema said “he would not eat chicken raised on “muzr-e-sehat” feed. No, Pakistan has announced that it will only import inclusion-free oilseeds ‘GMO’ from now on”.In this era of economic crisis and inflation, the price of chicken in Pakistan, like other food items, had already risen sharply, but in the past two weeks, the price of chicken has increased from 1.5 times to 200 rupees per kilo.Though there is a slight difference in the prices of every place and every city because the price of chicken varies by one rupee after every 15 to 20 rupees. A businessman linked to the poultry sector says “the biggest crisis right now is not the chicken, but its feed, and the supply of chicken in the market is declining”. Federal Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema said “GMO soybeans were not included in poultry feed before 2015.The poultry mafia imposed a tax on local soybeans, making imported soybeans cheaper and local soybeans more expensive.”According to him, “the purchase of GMOs is not allowed by regulation” and Pakistan has also signed an international agreement on the matter.According to the federal minister, poultry producers have started buying domestic feed since his statement.According to the owner of poultry farm,” Pakistan itself could produce this feed if the government did better research, but it would require resources”.
Mickey Arthur’s return have proven ‘difficult’, according to PCB, and the search for a new head coach is set to continue.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that it had held talks to appoint South Africa’s “Mickey Arthur” as the men’s team head coach, but added that the search would continue for the time being.Arthur is currently an English cricket coach in Derbyshire. Sindh Police Seeking Rs.2.79 Billion to Upgrade Weapons

The Sindh Police has requested the Sindh Government for an Rs2.79 Billion allocation in order to purchase military-grade weapons and ammunition from Pakistan Ordnance Factories, Wah. These include sophisticated sniper rifles with night vision capability, thermal binoculars, advanced surveillance drones, night-vision cameras, grenade launchers, night and thermal vision capability drone cameras, 82mm and 60mm mortar guns, G3 rifles, and automatic grenade launchers. A top-level committee of Sindh Police officers has been formed on the orders of the Inspector General of Sindh Police to approve the purchase of these weapons and to seek permission for restricted and prohibited military-grade weapons. This decision has been made in response to the martyrdom of five policemen, including a DSP and SHO, by dacoits in the riverine (Kacha) area of Ghotki, Kashmore, and Shikarpur districts in November last year.

Pakistan Received 60 Million Dollar Support for Afghan Refugees from US in 2022

Donald Blome, US Ambassador to Islamabad, revealed on Thursday that the US has given $273 million in aid for Afghan refugees and the communities that host them in Pakistan. The fiscal year 2022 saw an additional $60 million added to this figure. The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to Pakistan for its hospitality towards the refugees throughout the last four decades, and said that the US is proud to continue its support. This assistance has gone towards increasing school enrollment for Afghan and Pakistani children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, improving healthcare services and nutrition programs, providing livelihood opportunities for refugees and their hosts, and improving water, sanitation, and hygiene infrastructure. It has also been used to help those affected by Covid-19-related health and economic issues. UNHCR representative Noriko Yoshida pointed out that the US support allowed them to respond quickly to the floods of 2022, and provide Pakistani and Afghan refugees with life-saving items. Rizwan-Nida nominated for cricketer of the year by ICC

The International Cricket Council( ICC) on Thursday announced the nominations for the ICC T20I cricketer of the year.Pakistan wicketkeeper and batter Mohammad Rizwan and all-rounder Nida Dar making the cut in their separate sections.Rizwan was nominated for T20I cricketer of the year by the ICC in 2021.In the men’s section, the other three players are: India’s Suryakumar Yadav, England’s Sam Surran and Zimbabwe’s Sikander Raza.Among the leading runner in the t20- over format this year, Yadav is at the top spot with,164 runs followed by Rizwan( 996 runs), Virat Kohli( 781 runs) and Sikander Raza( 735 runs).Hailing Rizwan for his performance in the format, the justice body said the Pakistani cricketer scored 996 runs with 9 catches and 3 stumpings in 25 matches in this year. It said Rizwan also smashed 10 half- centuries in 2022 in T20Is, and finished with 175 runs in the T20 World Cup.On the other hand “Nida Dar”made 396 runs in 16 matches at normal of 56.57, and 15 wickets in hand.Dar is the first and the only Pakistani bowler to claim 100 T20I wickets and presently, the 2nd highest wicket taker in Women’s T20I according to the ICC. She also impressed with the bat.
