Imran Khan re-arrested in cipher case after released from attock jail

The former prime minister was arrested again shortly after his sentence was suspended in the Toshahana criminal case. This latest arrest is related to the Cypher case, and he was detained until August 30. The announcement of the decision was made by Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain of the Official Secrets Law Court.

The special court sent its written verdict to the Attock prison warden and ordered the former prime minister to appear in court on August 30. The judge emphasized that the persons involved were detained in cases under the Official Secrets Act. He should therefore remain in custody and appear in court at the appointed date.
The Islamabad Supreme Court recently suspended the judgment of the former prime minister in the Toshahana criminal case. A division bench of IHC comprising Chief Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri passed the decision after accepting the former prime minister’s appeal.
