“The Phenomenal Success of Barbie’s Movie Debut: A Global Box Office Triumph of $356 Million”

Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling’s Barbie movie earned a little bit more money than the $155 million the studio predicted on Sunday, according to the final Friday to Sunday total.

Based on domestic opening weekend sales, Barbie is the top film of the year, surpassing the $146.4 million total for its April release. The Super Mario Bros. film.

With $162 million in ticket sales in the US and Canada over the weekend, Barbie’s record-breaking cinematic premiere outperformed early projections, according to distributor Warner Bros.

In the box office competition known as “Barbenheimer,” Barbie competed against Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.

“Oppenheimer” earned over $98.0 million in 78 foreign countries for a total worldwide of $180.4Both films exceeded expectations, assisting in the fourth time in history that the US and Canadian box office exceeded $300 million.

Oppenheimer’s final figures also increased. From Friday through Sunday, the documentary about how the atomic bomb was made made $82.4 million in the United States and Canada, exceeding the prior prediction of $80.5 million.
