Diabetes among youth and how they can live a good life

Diabetes is a medical condition in which the quantum of sugar in the blood of the affected person increases or becomes irregular. In this condition, if diabetes isn’t controlled, different systems of the body begin to be affected.

It can affect one’s heart, blood vessels, if not treated on time. There are two types of diabetes.
Type 1 is extensively believed to be genetically transmitted or due to family history. In this, the affected person needs to take insulin instinctively.

In type 2 diabetes, either the pancreas of the affected person doesn’t produce enough insulin or the cells come resistant to insulin and sugar can not enter the cells, therefor the quantum of sugar in the blood starts to increase.

The exact cause of type 2 diabetes isn’t yet known, but it’s extensively believed that being fat, not moving or exercising, and not eating properly, increases the threat of type 2 diabetes.
In the absence or insufficiency of insulin, the person’s liver begins to break down fat to produce energy to the body.
A lot of acid is also produced during this process. They’re called ketones. When ketones begin to be produced in large quantities, they begin to accumulate in the body. The lack of insulin in the body and the performing rise in sugar happens quietly. Most people remain ignorant of this and ignore symptoms similar as increased thirst and frequent urination.

According to the 2021 report of the International Diabetes Federation( IDF), after China and India, Pakistan has the third highest number of adults with diabetes. In the recent times, the rate of diabetes has increased fleetly among youth or even younger people. before it was allowed that diabetes substantially affects people above the age of 40, but this is no longer the case.
IDF, there are more than one crore people in Pakistan who are at high threat of diabetes. While 26 percent of grown-ups have diabetes but it isn’t diagnosed.

But there’s no need to be hysterical of all these figures because people with diabetes can lead a fully normal life if they manage their diabetes by controlling their blood sugar.
Dr.Khadija Irfan, a professor in the Department of Endocrinology at the Services Institute of Medical lores attached to the Services Hospital in Lahore, says” the reason for this is life style.
Now we use buses to travel, we do utmost of the work while sitting, there is a lot of choices of food outside, having less vegetables, now children sit on the computer or phone rather than going out and playing. They Prefer to play games at home on phone”.

At the same time,Dr. Khadija believes that the trend of sleeping lower and not sleeping on time among the youth, is what increases the threat of diabetes.
Now we see children staying over until two or three in the morning and interacting with each other on social media. Medical exploration has proven that people who sleep lower than eight hours gain fats and the fruit of fat is diabetes.

Some people also believe that once they get diabetes, their life will change for forever, they suppose. She says that she has also observed that numerous times people suppose that using insulin will damage their kidneys but it’s a misconception.
Insulin is a natural substance that’s coming into your body from AllahTa’ala. How a natural substance damage your order?
you can do anything you want to do, If you control your diabetes.you can climb mountains, go swimming, If you want, she added.
