Effortless Weight Loss: Simple 5 Strategies to Shed Pounds

It’s nearly impossible for one to imagine losing weight without following a proper diet. Even the ones that follow a proper workout routine and sweat for hours in gyms and parks also consider having a balanced meal throughout the day. It’s a common myth that dieting is about starving yourself, but that isn’t true. Cutting down on extra carbs and processed sugars and replacing them with added fiber and proteins in your diet can work wonders in shedding weight.

So, the first thing that comes to our mind while planning to lose weight is :

Is it possible to lose weight without exercise?

If you cannot exercise for some reason but want to lose weight without exercise, it is possible that you can still lose weight without exercise, but it may take a longer period of time for the results to show.

This does not mean that it is a bad thing, because, if you can lose weight without exercise over a longer period of time, it can be easier for your body to keep that weight off for longer and you may not gain back the weight faster, as compared to some people who work out a lot and lose weight fast, only to gain it all back again. This usually happens because they don’t follow a healthy diet routine and therefore when the calorie burning from the exercise is taken off the equation, they gain the weight back.

Here are some tips and tricks to control your weight.

1. Review your portions.

When you’re at home, eat from smaller plates and bowls. You’ll likely take in fewer calories, and it tricks your brain into thinking you’re chowing down on more than you actually are. A good rule of thumb for a balanced meal: a clenched fist is a good portion size for a dense carb (1 cup), and your palm measures to about 4 oz, a good portion size for lean meat or protein—then add about 2 tbsp healthy fat (ideally from whole foods like nuts or avocado), plus plenty of green or colorful veggies to fill the rest of your plate.

2.Drink plenty of water.

Water is a boon for life, and it helps with weight loss, too. According to research published in Obesity, drinking 500 ML of water right half an hour before having food can help in shedding those extra kilos. Apart from this, a lot of studies have stated that increasing your water intake is directly proportional to the calories you burn in 24 hours. Believe it or not, calories are consumed by our body even during breathing, resting, et cetera. And if one drinks the proper amount of water, their body’s calorie count can automatically remain on healthier levels. As per experts, it is recommended that an average person should have a minimum of 3.7 litres of water per day.

3.Stop buying junk food, or keep it out of reach.

We all love snacking on foods that are unhealthy and will not really do us any good. But when you are trying to lose weight without exercise, snacking on unhealthy foods can make weight loss difficult. It may not be possible to completely stop buying unhealthy or junk food. But what you can do otherwise is to store it in such a way that you will only sometimes have easy access to these unhealthy foods.                For instance, store all your mithais, namkeens, chips, and sugary beverages at a very high level, on a shelf that is not easy to reach.Or, if there are certain mithais or drinks that need to be kept in the fridge, keep them at the extreme back of the fridge shelf and hide them by keeping healthy foods in the front.

4.Write everything down.

“It may not sound appealing, but study after study has shown that writing down what you eat is one of the most effective weight loss tools,” says Ansel. “Whether it’s journaling, using a note-taking app on your phone, or your favorite weight-loss app, recording what you eat is the best way to identify the sneaky ways you’re abusing. It.”

5.Keep stress free.

During these testing times, in an effort to stay free of the COVID-19 virus, people are unknowingly experiencing constant stress and emotional trauma in their lives. And on top of that, these mental issues can lead to weight gain and other health risks. Well, many studies have shown that if a person is stressed or under pressure, their body releases a hormone called cortisol, which is directly related to a slower metabolism. Therefore, to stay calm, try yoga and explore the world of meditation. This will not only help you reduce stress, but will also promote your weight loss.
