Facebook Meta to pay $725 to Cambridge Analytica to resolve data privacy case


Facebook owner Meta Platforms INC has in agreement to pay $725 million to resolve a class-action suit accusatory the social media about permitting third parties such as,”Cambridge Analytica” to access users’ personal info.

The projected settlement, that was disclosed in a very court filing late on Th, would resolve a long-running suit prompted by revelations in 2018 that Facebook had allowed nation political firm Cambridge Analytica to access knowledge of as several as 87m users.

Lawyers for the plaintiffs referred to as the projected settlement “the biggest to ever be achieved in a  U.S.A data privacy class and the most that Meta has ever paid to resolve an action lawsuit.
