Sindh Govt Buying 300,000 Tons of Wheat

The Sindh government approved the procurement of 300,000 tonnes of wheat from PASSCO (Pakistan Agricultural Storage & Services Corporation) in order to meet the province‘s wheat requirement until the harvest of the new crop in early March.

The Chief Minister directed the food department to make the necessary arrangements for the procurement, which was to begin in early February so that the set target could be achieved. The minimum price of sugar cane was fixed at Rs302 per 40kg, in line with the federal government‘s approval of a quality premium rate of Rs0.50 (50 paisa) per 40kg in 198999.
